GuideChoosing a Brain Energy Supplement: Ten Checks to Run on Any Label
Choose a brain energy supplement from its label, not its artwork. Check which ingredients carry their own amounts and which share a blend, compare those amounts with what studies used, match any medicine you take against the names, read what each seal actually certifies, and buy a pack that lasts through the guarantee window so you can judge it fairly.
This guide sets out ten checks and runs each one on Harmo Brain.

The ten checks
Run them in order on any label. The third column runs them on Harmo Brain.
| Check | What to look for | On Harmo Brain |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Amounts | Names with their own amount | Magnesium 80 mg, 19% DV |
| 2. Blends | A blend total, and the order of the names | 575 mg, magnesium glycinate first |
| 3. Doses studied | Research amounts beside the label's | Kept in a separate column on this website |
| 4. Forms | Glycinate, ubiquinone, standardised extracts | Magnesium glycinate; CoQ10 as ubiquinone; turmeric at 95% curcuminoids |
| 5. Medicines | Names that touch what you already take | CoQ10, alpha lipoic acid, turmeric and magnesium each carry a note |
| 6. Who it is for | Age, pregnancy and nursing, conditions | Adults 18 and over; not pregnant or nursing |
| 7. Seals | What each mark actually certifies | GMP describes an audited process; the rest are statements |
| 8. Claims | Label wording against the artwork | The front prints no benefit claim; the artwork's lines are the seller's |
| 9. Guarantee | Length, start date and how to claim | 60 days from purchase, by phone with the order ID |
| 10. Pack size | Supply against the window | Two bottles match the window exactly |
Amounts, blends and the order of names
The most informative minute you can spend on any supplement label.
Three readings, in order
Find the rows that carry their own amount first. Those are the ingredients you can weigh against research and against your diet. On the Harmo Brain panel there is one: magnesium, 80 mg, 19% of the Daily Value.
Then find any blend. The rule for Supplement Facts panels, 21 CFR 101.36, has a proprietary blend declare its total and list its ingredients heaviest first. So the order is data: on this panel, magnesium glycinate leads, and CoQ10 closes the list.
Last, compare the two. When a nutrient's own row is supplied from inside the blend, as magnesium is here, it takes part of the blend total, and the other names share the remainder. The worked arithmetic is in six ingredients share 575 mg.
Compare the label with what studies used
Put the label's numbers and the research's numbers side by side, never in one column.
Every amount in the table is the amount a published study used, or a limit set for adults, from a 2023 meta-analysis of alpha lipoic acid, a trial in prefrail older adults, an 18-month curcumin trial and the NIH magnesium fact sheet. The Harmo Brain panel prints magnesium at 80 mg and the blend at 575 mg in total, so no research figure here describes what one capsule holds.
| Ingredient | What published research used or found | What this label prints |
|---|---|---|
| Magnesium (as glycinate) | 310–420 mg a day from all sources for adults; 350 mg a day is the upper limit from supplements | 80 mg magnesium, 19% DV |
| Alpha lipoic acid | 600, 1,200 and 1,800 mg a day in ten trials (1,242 people) of diabetic polyneuropathy | Share of the 575 mg blend |
| L-carnitine | 1.5 g a day for 10 weeks in prefrail older adults | Share of the 575 mg blend |
| Turmeric extract, 95% curcuminoids | 90 mg of curcumin twice a day, in a bioavailable form, for 18 months | Share of the 575 mg blend |
The alpha lipoic acid trials were run in people with diabetic polyneuropathy, the L-carnitine trial in prefrail older adults and the curcumin trial in adults aged 51 to 84 without dementia.
The form of each ingredient
The same name can arrive in forms that behave differently.
Magnesium glycinate
Magnesium bound to the amino acid glycine. In 12 adults after ileal resection it was better tolerated than magnesium oxide and absorbed better by the four worst absorbers (Schuette 1994).
CoQ10 as ubiquinone
The oxidised form of CoQ10, fat-soluble and absorbed slowly, peaking about six hours after a dose (Bhagavan and Chopra).
Standardised turmeric
An extract at 95% curcuminoids can be compared between labels. Curcumin alone is poorly absorbed, and the Harmo Brain panel lists no absorption partner such as black pepper extract (Hewlings and Kalman).
L-carnitine, not its cousin
Acetyl-L-carnitine is a separate compound in the same family (NIH ODS). Read which one a label prints; Harmo Brain prints plain L-carnitine.
Match the label to your medicines
Five minutes with the label and your medicine list.
Read every name on the panel against every medicine you take. In this category four names carry known notes: CoQ10, alpha lipoic acid, turmeric and magnesium.
For Harmo Brain, each note is set out in full, with its source, on the side effects and safety page, and the notebook article on warfarin, insulin and the liver explains how to raise them before the first capsule.
Who the label is written for
The label's own caution settles most of check 6.
The Harmo Brain label is written for
- Adults aged 18 and over
- One capsule a day
- Storage below 30°C (86°F), in a cool dry place
The Harmo Brain label rules out
- Anyone under the age of 18
- Pregnant or nursing mothers
- More than the recommended dose
“Do not exceed recommended dose. Not for use for those under the age of 18 or pregnant or nursing mothers. Consult with a physician prior to use especially if you are taking a medication or have a medical condition.”
Read what each seal certifies
Four marks, four different kinds of statement.
Process marks against statements
Of the process marks, only Good Manufacturing Practice describes an audited process. Facility registration is a listing, and the FDA does not approve dietary supplements before they are sold (FDA questions and answers).
All ten marks on the Harmo Brain artwork are read one by one on the testing and quality page.
Separate the label from the artwork
The bottle and the advertising are two different documents.
Two documents, read apart
A label's wording is held to the rules for structure/function statements (FDA), and advertising is held to the evidence standard in the FTC guidance for health products. Artwork can say more than either.
So read the two separately. The Harmo Brain bottle front prints three things: the name, 30 Capsules and Dietary Supplement. The key visuals add four lines of their own. The label is the part that describes the capsule; the artwork is the seller's advertising, and it is quoted here as that.
The guarantee and the pack size
Buy a pack that lasts through the window, and know when the window starts.
| Pack | Capsules | Days of supply | Inside the 60-day window |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 Bottles | 60 | 60 | All of it |
| 3 Bottles | 90 | 90 | The first 60 days |
| 6 Bottles | 180 | 180 | The first 60 days |
When the clock starts
A guarantee counted from purchase includes delivery time, so plan to decide with a week or more in hand.
How a claim works
For Harmo Brain, a claim starts with a call to +1 (302) 200-3480 with the order ID. The full route is on the refund policy page.
Plan a trial you can judge
Four dates that turn a purchase into a fair test.
- Day 1
Write the baseline
Two or three lines, in your own words, on what you hope a daily capsule helps with.
- Day 14
Check the routine, not the result
Is one capsule a day easy to keep up? That is the first thing to settle.
- Weeks 4–8
Look again
Most of this desk's buyers who report a change place it here.
- By day 50
Decide
Keep going, or call order support while there is time left in the window.
The full plan is in the notebook article four to eight weeks and a sixty-day window.
Choosing questions
What is the most important thing to check on a brain energy supplement?
Which ingredients carry their own amount and which share a blend. Inside a fixed blend total, every extra name shares the same milligrams, so a longer list can mean less of each.
Do seals prove a supplement works?
No. A Good Manufacturing Practice seal describes how a product is made; a Registered Facility mark describes where. Neither says anything about what the capsule does.
How long should I try one before deciding?
Long enough to judge it and short enough to stay inside the money-back window. For Harmo Brain, most of this desk's buyers who report a change put it at four to eight weeks, and the guarantee runs 60 days from purchase.
Who wrote this guide
How these pages are checked
- The bottle is the source. The six materials, the two amounts, the capsule count, the suggested use and the caution come from the printed label and its Supplement Facts panel. Contacts, the guarantee and the refund route come from this desk.
- Research amounts live in a column of their own, headed “What published research used or found”, beside a column that says what this label prints. No sentence here moves a number from the first into the second.
- Sources are cited against their own population. Where a trial was run in people with a diagnosis, the sentence says so and the result is not carried across to a healthy reader.
- Corrections change the date. Write to contact@Harmoebrain.com and the review date moves forward.
Why we say where we earn
Harmoebrain is the USA Authorized Harmo Brain Retailer named at the top of this page, and this website earns on orders placed through it. That is why the label arithmetic, the three-star review and the medication notes are printed here in full: they are where our interest and yours could pull apart.
Order support on +1 (302) 200-3480 handles tracking, changes and refunds and is never a way to place an order; orders go through the checkout only.
