Harmo Brain Reference Guides: Brain Energy Supplements, Labels and Research

Quick answer

Two long guides and five notebook articles from the Harmoebrain editorial desk. The first guide explains what a brain energy supplement is and what its usual ingredients were studied for; the second is a ten-point checklist for choosing one from its label. The articles each take one question from the Harmo Brain panel, from the 575 mg blend to the 60-day window.

Each one cites its sources in the sentence they support.

Start with the guides for the category; turn to the notebook for one question at a time.

Brain Energy Supplement Guide

What the category means, the four mitochondrial jobs its ingredients map onto, the doses research used, and how to read a proprietary blend. Read the guide.

Choosing a Brain Energy Supplement

Ten checks to run on any label, from amounts and forms to seals, claims, the guarantee and the pack size, each one run on Harmo Brain. Read the checklist.

The Harmo Brain Notebook

Five shorter articles, each answering one question the Harmo Brain panel raises, with its sources cited in the text. Open the notebook.

The notebook

Five notebook articles

Each article takes one line of the Harmo Brain panel and follows it into the research.

Where to start

Where to start, by question

Four starting points for four kinds of reader.

  1. New to the category

Read the brain energy supplement guide first: the biology, the usual names and what their research used.

  2. Comparing labels

The ten-point checklist works on any label in the category, not only this one.

  3. Taking a medicine

Start with the interactions article, then the safety page.

  4. Already ordered

Planning a fair trial sets out what to note and when, inside the 60-day window.

The worked example

The one label every guide reads

80 mgmagnesium as glycinate, 19% of the Daily Value
575 mgproprietary blend of six named materials
6materials: one mineral compound, three mitochondrial, two botanical
33published sources cited across the guides and pages

Why one worked example

Every guide uses one real panel as its worked example, so a rule about blends or Daily Values is shown on a label you can hold, not described in the abstract. The panel prints two amounts, and the guides never add a third.

Where the label lives

The panel itself, row by row, is on the Supplement Facts page, and the six materials have a card each on the ingredients page.

How they are written

Three rules behind every guide

The same three rules apply to every guide and every article.

Research in its own column

Amounts from published studies sit beside what the label prints and never inside it. No research figure describes what one capsule holds.

The population, named

When a trial was run in people with a diagnosis, the sentence says so, and the result stays with that group.

The label first

Every fact about the capsule comes from the printed bottle and its Supplement Facts panel. Artwork is quoted as artwork.

Glossary

Eight terms the guides use

The vocabulary of a Supplement Facts panel, in plain words.

TermWhat it means on a label
Daily Value (DV)The reference amount a Supplement Facts panel measures a nutrient against. For magnesium it is 420 mg, so 80 mg prints as 19%.
Upper limitThe most of a nutrient adults are advised to take from supplements and medicines each day. For magnesium it is 350 mg (NIH Office of Dietary Supplements).
Proprietary blendA group of ingredients declared with one total weight and listed heaviest first, without an amount for each (21 CFR 101.36).
Standardised extractAn extract made to contain a stated share of its key compounds, such as turmeric at 95% curcuminoids.
GlycinateA mineral bound to the amino acid glycine. Most of the weight of magnesium glycinate is glycine, not magnesium.
UbiquinoneThe oxidised form of coenzyme Q10, the form the panel names.
MitochondriaThe parts of a cell that turn fuel from food into usable energy. Three of the six materials on the panel take part in that work.
Structure/function statementLabel wording about how an ingredient relates to the body's normal structure or function. It always carries the FDA disclaimer (FDA rules).

What the guides do, and what they leave to you

Reference pages inform a decision; they do not make it.

What the guides do

  • Explain what each name on a brain energy label is and does
  • Set the amounts published research used beside what a label prints
  • Show how to read a blend, a Daily Value and a seal
  • Point to the source for every figure, in the sentence it supports

What they leave to you

  • Deciding whether a capsule suits your routine
  • The conversation with whoever prescribes your medicines
  • A fair trial, judged by your own notes
  • Reading the label of the bottle you actually receive
Questions

Questions about the guides

Do the guides recommend Harmo Brain?

They use its label as the worked example, because a real panel shows a rule better than a description of one. This website earns on orders placed through its order link, which is stated on every page that describes the desk; the decision stays yours.

How are the sources chosen?

Government fact sheets first (NIH, NCCIH, the FDA and the FTC), then published trials and reviews. Every PubMed record was checked against the NCBI database, and work by authors with retracted papers on the same subject was left out.

Are the guides medical advice?

No. They explain labels and research so a conversation with whoever prescribes your medicines starts from the right facts. They do not replace that conversation.

How these pages are checked

  1. The bottle is the source. The six materials, the two amounts, the capsule count, the suggested use and the caution come from the printed label and its Supplement Facts panel. Contacts, the guarantee and the refund route come from this desk.
  2. Research amounts live in a column of their own, headed “What published research used or found”, beside a column that says what this label prints. No sentence here moves a number from the first into the second.
  3. Sources are cited against their own population. Where a trial was run in people with a diagnosis, the sentence says so and the result is not carried across to a healthy reader.
  4. Corrections change the date. Write to contact@Harmoebrain.com and the review date moves forward.

Why we say where we earn

Harmoebrain is the USA Authorized Harmo Brain Retailer named at the top of this page, and this website earns on orders placed through it. That is why the label arithmetic, the three-star review and the medication notes are printed here in full: they are where our interest and yours could pull apart.

Order support on +1 (302) 200-3480 handles tracking, changes and refunds and is never a way to place an order; orders go through the checkout only.
